Webflow Is The Future Of Website-Building
If you use Webflow as a main tool for creating websites, you are at a strategic advantage in your industry. In such a leading position, the sky's the limit when shifting your ideas towards creation.
But this is not the best part.
What sets Webflow apart is its constantly improving trajectory, offering more and more to users for a seamless web experience.
In this change-driven momentum a few months ago Webflow realized brand new updates that will sharpen the way we build websites.
Despite traditional updates launching on the regular Webflow conference that will happen in October 2024, Webflow representatives wanted to pre-update users about new features.
9 Webflow Updates You Need To Know About
Some new possibilities are available now, while some are yet to come.
In both cases, enjoying new Webflow updates, while we wait for new things, puts us in a perfect position to continuously improve our work.
Let’s sneak peek into Webflow Summer 2024 Releases!
Composable CMS
Webflow is highly focused on the visual first approach, therefore CMS improvement was first updated in the 2024 Summer release.
The CMS update referred to a new option of editing content directly in the Designer mode, without going back and forth.
This way, Webflow users can approach content management with more flexibility, without the CMS panel.
Directly on the visual canvas, you can change the text, replace images, change colors, and more.
To get this updated even more firmly when you make an edit directly in the designer, Webflow will automatically save the changes, updating the status in the CMS panel as well.
Component Slots
Next Webflow updates are referred to as component slots.
Component slots are specific Webflow areas where designers can place their reusable components, making the website building more flexible and customized.
With this new update, designers and developers can make components with placeholders without specifying what goes into them.
Just by dropping, both marketers and clients can change components inside slots without changing the design structure.
Libraries
Hand in hand with component slots, we have Libraries update which is one of the best improvements.
Webflow representatives introduced a new feature that will allow users to manage components and variables across multiple websites.
So far components and variables have been manually copied and refigured across projects, but now, you can create and share libraries to get more consistency.
Once you create a Library within a project other team members can install it on their own projects, making this hub available to multiple websites within the same workspace.
Site-specific access
Advanced websites you can create with Webflow come along with more control, therefore site-specific access is another recent update.
Site-specific access was released a few months ago and it will significantly improve roles and permission within the Webflow. With this update, you can allow, restrict, or modify access according to roles and permissions.
Moreover, Webflow announced that users will soon be able to set default permissions for new websites created within Workspaces. This update enhances role management providing greater security for larger teams and organizations.
Page building
Page building is one more recent Webflow update that allows less technical users to create new pages more easily.
This upcoming feature will provide a drag-and-drop interface for users with less expertise, clients, or marketers, for example, allowing them to quickly build brand-oriented pages.
This opportunity widens the usage of Webflow – designers can set up a page template, and less technical users can drag and drop components and create a page.
Here, the designer will have full control over the page, so there’s a minimum risk for less technical users to go with this option. As Webflow said, Page Building will be available in private beta in the coming months, with a general release planned later in the year.
AI Optimization
Webflow does not lag behind the trends, therefore AI Optimization is another released update. In this update, Webflow introduces AI-powered tools for optimizing a site’s performance.
Here, we can see they mostly focus on testing and personalization, to get refined user experience based on data. With well-established Webflow methodology and AI power, Webflow will for sure provide users with effective optimization, taking the best of both.
